Methodology

How prices are checked

What gets recorded

For each plan we store the host, the plan name, the kind of hosting, the first-term price, the renewal price when we have it, the billing term, and any specs we have actually read. A dash means that field is not verified. We do not fill a dash with an estimate.

Prices stay in the currency on the pricing page. A euro price is not converted into dollars, and the table says so when it sorts.

How often

A scheduled job checks the hosts that have a working reader once a day, at 13:17 UTC. If a page cannot be parsed, or a price moves by more than 20%, the previous figure stays and the row is flagged for a person to review. Plans without a reader keep the last manual check and the date on that row.

The date next to a plan is the day that figure was read, not the day the page was deployed.

Dated changes, and the day each current price was last read, are on the price changelog. The same current table is published as prices.json. The daily scrape appends a changelog line when a stored price changes or a review flag changes. A plan added by hand is entered in that file with the change. A check that reads the same price does not add a line.

How the order is chosen

  • The main comparison table sorts by the listed first-term price, high to low. That is the homepage and Best n8n hosting. Pages that list the lowest prices (cheapest way to host n8n, under $5/mo, and free hosting), a host's own plans, and head-to-head plan lists sort that same first-term price low to high. Unverified prices sort last. The sort compares the numbers as listed and does not convert currencies. A visitor can sort the price column the other way.
  • "Cheapest right now" is the lowest verified price above zero that is not usage-based and is not waiting on a review. Usage-based plans are left out of that pick because the real bill depends on use.
  • When a plan lists more than one billing option, the table shows each option with its term. Sorting and the starts-at figure use the lowest of those first-term prices.
  • The renewal jump is the renewal price minus the first-term price, divided by the first-term price, rounded to the nearest percent. It is shown only when both prices are verified and the renewal is higher.

What we will not claim

Specs, backups, and renewal prices stay off the page until they are read from the host. A snapshot is not described as a daily backup. A minimum contract is not described as a promise that the price never changes. A managed plan is not described as a one-click VPS, and a one-click install is not described as managed n8n.

Affiliate policy

Some links on this site may be affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Prices and order are never affected by affiliates. The ranking rules above do not look at whether a link pays a commission. Offer markup points at the host's own pricing page, not at the redirect.
